About
Meet CZT Alyssa Herget
Hi there! I'm Alyssa, but you can call me Aly. I became a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) in 2021.
My passion for creating Zentangle Inspired Art has been growing for years. I have been mostly self-taught by finding a technique and playing with it until I could get results that I was happy with. I never want to duplicate someone's art, but use it as inspiration to develop my own way of doing it. I'm known for going rogue in my tangling and doing what I want!
While on my tangle journey, I have met numerous tanglers who have become like family. When they have questions about their art, or need help with a technique, they know my door is always open for advice. In helping others, I have found my new passion: teaching what I know in an approachable way.
I reach my students through patience, compassion, and humor.
- Patience: giving my students grace and allowing questions to be asked multiple times knowing that sometimes it doesn't click right away.
- Compassion: knowing that we are our own worst critics, and providing a safe space to explore your talent, even if you aren't where you wanted or expected to be.
- Humor: providing a fun, silly, and snarky environment so we don't take ourselves too seriously.
All of these attributes combined provide an environment where students can feel safe and comfortable while on their learning journey. I know that I do not have all the answers. I am still on my learning journey, and am always looking to expand my knowledge. But I also know that I can share what I do know in a way that makes you feel confident in your ability to do it on your own.
I created Tangle Explorations so I could share my knowledge with tips and tricks I've learned along the way. This material is something you can reference time and time again. My content is perfect for beginners as well as those who have been tangling for years. We all have something to learn.
Thank you for being here and showing interest in my content! I look forward to exploring Zentangle Inspired Art with you, whether through my online materials, or in a future class.
Sincerely, Aly.
